Sight Word Lists

Here is our classroom word wall. 

This wall will contain 57 words that do not follow any certain spelling pattern or words that Kindergartners often use in their writing and reading. They are words that the Kindergartners will be tested on each quarter. 

Each week, I will add two new words to our word wall. We will talk about the words and practice using them in sentences. 

Along with in class lessons, we also will be sending home sight words lists. Everyone will get sight word list 1 this week. I ask that you practice the list of words with your student. Practice reading them, making them, writing them, mixing them up and reading them, or make flash cards! Anything to help your child learn those words. 

When you feel confident that your child can recognize those words, cut the list in half, sign one half, and send it back to school. I will test your child on that list and send a new one home!
