September 23-27

Our poem this week was "Apples". We made movements to our poem, completed some word sorts, and completed a poetry page.

For word work, we sorted J or G, E or J, O or E, and Q or O.

Our big book was "The Dog Park". We really liked this book because the main character was a cute puppy who was playing at the dog park and made new friends!

For writing, we worked on a Jaguar for J, Elephant for E, Owl for O, Quail for Q, and Fox for F.

Our new word wall words this week were "and" and "like".

For guidance, we talked about following directions.

Our read aloud was "Chrysanthemum". We practiced predicting, retelling, comparing and contrasting, making inferences, telling our favorite part, and answering comprehension questions.

For math, we introduced two new work places. The students are practicing writing numbers at both work places. We also starting talking about ABAB, AABAAB, and ABC patterns.

Elsa was our special person this week! We enjoyed getting to know Elsa more.
