Our read aloud book this week was "Chicken's Aren't the Only Ones". We wrote current and new information we knew/learned about animals that come from eggs, we sorted oviparous (animals that come from eggs) and viviparous (animals that don't come from eggs), we wrote about the authors purpose, and we answered questions about our text.
Our poem this week was Oviparous. We learned all about animals that comes from eggs and completed a short/long O sorting activity.
For word work, we looked at AR and not AR words. We sorted the words, colored the AR pattern, made words, and colored pictures.
Our big book was "Morning on the Farm".
For writing, we continued to work on our poetry books along with a special mothers day book!
For math we have been working on number bonds and story problems (part/part whole).
For science, we studied moon phases.
For guidance, we had Mrs. Kikkert come talk to us about safe touches.
Mrs. DeRosa came into our room last week and read "There's a Bear in my Chair". We loved it so much that we decided to make our own book, "There's a Mouse in my House". We even invited Mrs. DeRosa back so she could see what we created.
Our special person this week was Coralyn! We were so excited to learn more about Coralyn and to have Mrs. Reid come read to us!
