This week in Kindergarten!
Our poem this week was Arctic Animals. We made movements to our poem, glued it into our poetry notebook, completed a poetry page, and recorded it for seesaw.
Our read aloud this week was The Snowy Day. We practiced visualizing, retelling, making connections, making inferences, telling our opinion, and answering comprehension questions.
In writing, we started a new writing unit. We will now be writing How To books. Together, as a class, we wrote How to get Snow Gear On and How to Make Hot Chocolate. Next week, they will be writing their own how to books.
For math, we are in unit 4. In this unit your child will count by 2's to 20, explore even numbers as doubles, add 1 and subtract 1 to numbers from 1 to 10, compare and order numbers from 1 to 10, and write equations to show sums up to 5.
In guidance, we talked about same or different. We learned that we each have our own emotions and some people can feel different emotions for the same situation.
