This week in Kindergarten!
This week our poem was I'm a Little Penguin. We made movements to our poem, glued it into our poetry notebook, completed a poetry page, and recorded it for seesaw.
Our read aloud was Tacky the Penguin. We practiced making predictions. retelling important parts, describing Tacky, comparing and contrasting, telling our favorite part, and answering comprehension questions.
In writing, the students started writing their own how to books. We practiced making our steps clear so our reader can understand how to do the thing we are writing about. We also learned about a diagram. We brainstormed some how to writing topics together as well.
For math, we are in unit 4. In this unit your child will count by 2's to 20, explore even numbers as doubles, add 1 and subtract 1 to numbers from 1 to 10, compare and order numbers from 1 to 10, and write equations to show sums up to 5.
For guidance, we talked about accidents. We learned that sometimes we might get hurt by another friend by accident. We learned what to do if that happens and we learned what to do if we were the one who accidently hurt our friend.
