Our poem this week was, "Splish Splash". We made movements to our poem, completed a ASH/ISH sorting activity, completed a rhyming sorting activity, and looked at for "EE" words.
Our big book was "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". We were very surprised by the ending of our story when the Itsy Bitsy Spider became a tiny lunch for a frog!
Our read aloud this week was, "Creepy Pair of Underwear". We practiced retelling, connecting to our main character, talking about feelings and how emotions change throughout stories, and answering comprehension questions.
For word work, we looked at "tricky Y" words where the "Y" at the end makes an "I" sound. We sorted words, colored words, and colored pictures.
For writing, we continued to work on our opinion books. The students got to pick their book topic:
What is scarier: bee or spider
What makes the best pet: dog or cat
For math, we worked on teen numbers and finding out how many groups of ten and how many groups of 1 are in teen numbers.
For science, we talked about water and matter and the sun.
For guidance we learned how to handle having things taken away.
Our new word wall words this week were "saw" and "had".
We also completed our STEM activity where the students used paper and cardboard rolls to build towers!

As this week was difficult to come back to; I am very happy to be back at school and doing what I love. I missed the Kindergartners deeply!
