Our poem this week was "Arctic Animals". We made movements to our poem, sorted words by their ending sound, sorting O and I words, and looked for sight words.
Our read aloud was "A Snowy Day". We worked on visualizing, retelling, making connections, making inferences, answering comprehension questions, and telling our favorite weather.
For word work, we looked at the O sound and the O__E sound. We sorted words, colored word chunks, and then colored pictures that had O or O__E.
Our big book this week was "The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly". We thought this story was VERY funny!
For handwriting, we learned lower case T, A, D, G, and U.
For writing, we wrote what we knew about an octopus, planes, and web writing.
For math, we practice adding one more or one less.
For guidance, we practiced how to calm down when we are upset. You take a big belly breath and breath in/out through your nose.
Our special person this week was AJ. We were excited to learn more about AJ and have his dad come read to us!
Kindergarten was in charge of Jaguar Jump Start this week. We focused on forgiveness and some kindergartners even read at Jaguar Jump Start!
