Our poem this week was "Itsy Bitsy Spider". We made movements to our poem, completed sorts, and completed a poetry page.
For word work, we sorted V/K, W/V, X/W, Y/W, and Z/Y.
Our big book was "The Old Lady who Swallowed a Fly". We loved how silly this book was!
For writing, we moved into writing in books! Together as a class we wrote a book about our field trip to the pumpkin farm. The students are starting to sound words out all on their own!
For our read aloud, we read "Creepy Pair of Underwear". We thought the story was very funny! We worked on predicting, retelling, making connections, studying our main character, answering comprehension questions, and telling our favorite part.
For math, we have been practicing with our ten-frames and our number racks! We even made some equations.
For handwriting, we practiced letters H and K.
For science, we talked about living vs. non-living.
For guidance, we talked about being assertive.
Our new word wall words this week were you and it.
Benny was our special person of the week! We were so excited to learn more about Benny and for Mrs. Adams to come read to us!
