50's Day

50's Day was so much fun!

We started the day with a LIVE Jaguar Jumpstart. During the Jaguar Jumpstart, we had to say where Mr. Pawsitive was and we were the winners! Mr. Pawsitive came to our class for a special visit!

Then we jumped into 50 Day centers. They were racing cars to syllables, matching beginning letters to sweater sounds, making a special 50's Day project, rolling 2 dice and writing an equation to match, and they were scooping ice cream scoops! Each time they completed a center all the way, they got a penny to save or spend at the end of the day at Kuck Kandy Shop.

Then we had a special 50's day snack. We had potato chips and root beer floats. YUM!

We also did a some special 50's day movements.

Today was so much fun!

November 8-12

This week in Kindergarten!

Our poem this week was Out in the Garden. We made movements to our poem, glued it into our poetry notebook, completed a poetry page, and recorded the poem for seesaw.

Our read aloud was Wemberly Worried. We worked on making predictions, retelling key details, studying our main character, making connections, telling our favorite part, and answering comprehension questions.

In writing, we finished up our Halloween Party books. On Monday, the students will be able to start their own personal narrative story.

In math, we are in unit 3. In this unit your child will count by 2's to 20, explore even numbers as doubles, add 1 and subtract 1 to numbers from 1 to 10, compare and order numbers from 1 to 10, and write equations to show sums up to 5.

In guidance we talked about feelings. We talked about that if you can name your own feelings, it will help you figure out how other people feel. All feelings are natural. Some feelings are comfortable, and some are uncomfortable. Physical clues can help you identify others' feelings.
